Good news: we know exactly what it takes to get a rig like Hailey Baldwin. Bad news: it ain’t easy.
Speaking with Elle US, the 21-year-old dished all the deets on her insanely clean sugar and gluten-free diet.
“I try to be very strict about eating just for my skin and my body,” she said, adding that hydration is key: “I think drinking a lot of water helps. I try to drink, like, a couple bottles throughout the day. I don’t know how many glasses that would amount to, but it’s important.”
Normally, she’ll start the day with eggs, porridge, a healthy protein, or a smoothie.
“Lunch is usually salad, fish, grilled veggies, or maybe a sandwich,” she says. “I don’t really eat a lot of gluten so I’m trying to be particular. I love a good kale Caesar salad [but with] no croutons. That’s usually one thing I leave out.”
When it comes to dinner, she’s pretty low fuss.
“[It’s] usually kind of along the same lines [as lunch] – some sort of vegetable or pasta, like a gluten-free pasta. Chicken, maybe. Sometimes [I’ll do dessert.] I really like the Magnum bars, obviously, that’s a great one. [But I generally try to avoid] sugar. Sugar’s a big one for everyone, I think.”
And rather than indulging in a cheat-meal, Hailey’s all for making a day of it.
“The first thing I crave, I’ll eat,” she explains. “That’s my rule. So, if I wake up and I want pancakes, I’m gonna eat pancakes. If I want a cheeseburger for lunch or for dinner, I’m gonna eat it. If I want fries, I’m gonna eat the fries.”
She’s also partial to loosening the reins on hols (coz, human).
“I did go to Maldives not too long ago, I felt like that was super lavish. I was eating whatever I wanted when I was there because you’ve got to take advantage of those moments.”
It’s no wonder her abs are off the hook.
