We’re guessing Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are FaceTiming with champagnes in their hands right about now, because the 2019 Golden Globe nominations have been announced and, as expected, A Star Is Born cleaned up. Not only did Cooper get both a Best Director nod for his directorial debut and a Best Actor nomination, but Gaga was also nominated for Best Actress for her first-ever movie. The film itself was also recognised with Best Picture and Best Original Song for ‘Shallow’, which Gaga and Cooper vowed to perform at the Oscars, should it be nominated.
In the Best Motion Picture category, A Star Is Born will be up against Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, and If Beale Street Could Talk and for Best Picture, Comedy, it’ll be a tight race between Crazy Rich Asians (Constance Wu nabbed a nomination), The Favourite, Green Book, Mary Poppins Returns and Vice.
Sandra Oh, was not only nominated for Best Actress for her role on Killing Eve, but will be co-hosting the awards with Andy Samberg. Idris Elba’s daughter, Isan, has been confirmed to serve as Golden Globe ambassador.
