Gilmore Girls: Where are they now?

After the show ended, Bledel starred alongside Blake Lively in Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. She also starred in a few episodes of Mad Men in 2012 where she met Vincent Kartheiser. Two years later, the pair wed in a top secret ceremony. In March this year, Bledel and Katheiser welcomed their first son. 

Character: Lorelai

Last year, Graham revealed that she filmed her last scenes for Gilmore Girls without knowing the show was coming to an end. “I was in a restaurant and I’d turned my phone off, because that’s polite, and a waiter comes to the table and he was like “Are you Lauren Graham? Your agent’s on the phone,” she said. “I thought like I’m in a Forties movie as I’m walking to the house phone and I pick it up and he says, “It’s cancelled” and that’s how I found out.”

However, Lauren went on to star as a a single mother (again) in the hit TV show Parenthood. She also made it to the big screen in Because I said So, Sad Santa and The Pacifier.

She has been in a seven year relationship with Parenthood co-star Peter Krause.

Character: Sookie 

Since Gilmore Girls ended in 2007, McCarthy has become on the of most in demand funny women in Hollywood. The actress earned an Oscar nomination for her standout role in Bridesmaids. She also starred in Spy, The Heat and Tammy. Most recently, McCarthy stars in the all-female remake of Ghostbusters. 

And it doesn’t stop there: McCarthy has been busy off-screen as well! In 2015, she launched very own clothing line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7. The line extends beyond a size 12 – and for good reason. “My line is all sizes because I was like, ‘Women don’t stop — I don’t know why I would stop at a certain size; that seems odd to me,” she explained. 

McCarthy is married to director and producer Ben Falcone and the couple have two daughters Georgette and Vivian.

Character: Luke 

Scott swapped his apron for a a badge after Gilmore Girls, starring as Peter Strahm in Saw 4, 5 and 6. He also starred on the small screen as Michael Buchanan in The Event. 

Character: Dean

Padalecki moved on from his role as Rory’s beau in Gilmore Girls and went on to star in the hit TV show Supernatural. He also made it to the big screen in Friday the 13th, Cry Wolf and New York Minute. 

On a more personal front, Padalecki is now married to Supernatural co-star Genevieve Cortese. The pair have two sons, Tom and Austin.
