"If you do both jobs you should get both cards"

While Father’s Day down under isn’t until September, the US and UK are currently celebrating their dads, with celebrities posting heartfelt messages to social media.

Perhaps, one of the best things to come out of this year’s day for dads are cards which were released specifically for single mothers.

Happy Father’s Day Mum is the UK based card company created by Stevie Rowling-Parker who lost his father at age five. Since his dad’s passing, Stevie’s mum raised him and his brother on her own.

“She poured every last ounce of energy into giving us an amazing upbringing against all odds,” Stevie said in a statement.

“Yet, on Father’s Day, I couldn’t help but think she still felt that somehow we’d gone without. Like not having a dad had deprived us. So I set myself the mission of turning Father’s Day from a sad day to a day to celebrate.”

Stevie’s mum, Maria Rowing-Parker, says she hopes that through her son’s cards, other mums can feel as appreciated as she does on Father’s Day.

“Single mums rarely have time to stop and reflect on everything they’ve done; they just get on with it,” she said.

“But when you receive a card saying thank you for being Mum and Dad, thank you for putting us in front of anything else, you can’t help but feel a little bit proud.”

There are currently three cards in the range all priced at £3.95 ($6.60 AUD) each.

Slogans include: “If You Do Both Jobs You Should Get Both Cards”, “Who Needs A Dad When Your Mum Has Balls?” and “Who Said The Best Dad In The World Can’t Be A Mum?”
