4 Interior Trends You’ll Be Seeing Everywhere In 2023

From runway to hallway.

Trends forged on the fashion runways often find their way into our homes. What appears in the current collections—whether it be a vibrant hue or a sleek silhouette—can dictate the next wave of interiors.

Taking cues from fashion’s latest directions, this season’s décor is inspired by cobalt blue, neutral textures, glimmers of chrome and white-on-white styling. Better yet, these are all styles with staying power—designed to last long after the novelty of ‘newness’ has faded.

Here, using Freedom’s stunning homewares and furniture range, we present the four major fashion trends that are now homeward bound, and show you how to style each look.

1. White On White

The fashion landscape in 2023 sees white make a comeback in our wardrobes and in our homes. Spotless, all-white looks appeared in the Spring/Summer 2023 collections by luxury labels Off-White, Burberry and Issey Miyake. And most notably, a pristine white dress was sprayed onto model Bella Hadid during Coperni’s runway at Paris Fashion Week.

Minimalists can sigh with relief as this trend flows through to furniture and homewares. Create a space layered with covetable pieces in various iterations of textured white—from a boucle bench seat or occasional chair to blown glassware and chunky, caramel-white knits.

2. Minimalist Chrome

One of the most prominent colour trends of the season, silver takes centre-stage and deserves to shine. Model Gigi Hadid sashayed down Chloé’s runway (for the French label’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection) in a silver-toned mesh dress wearing silver separates underneath. And in Isabel Marant’s spring ready-to-wear collection, the Paris-based brand showcases shimmering metallic pieces.

Capture the moment with a chrome statement piece that sets the mood, like the ‘Dome Table Lamp’ by Freedom. Combining voluminous curves with the popular colour, this look-at-me lamp is at once sophisticated and modern.

3. Textured Neutrals

Neutrals never go out of style, but this season they’ve been given an update with plenty of texture and tassels. Fashion tastemakers Dior and Givenchy embraced this trend in their Spring/Summer 2023 collections, the latter scattering feathers at the hem of an off-white slinky evening dress to add texture. Now this tactile look is making its way into homes by way of rugs, cushions, vases, sculptures, urns, and oversized pots.

Embrace the look in your interiors with furnishings inspired by ancient, hand-crafted techniques. Look to Freedom’s impressive range of rugs to add warmth to any space, especially when natural materials, ribbing and organic patterns make an appearance.

4. Bursts Of Blue

Pops of cobalt and powder blue make an entrance this season on and off the runway. Case in point? For American designer Christopher John Rogers’ Resort 2023 collection, model Karlie Kloss opened the show in a belted coat, turtleneck and trousers—the entire ensemble doused in a vibrant, ocean blue.

Splash this dreamy seascape in small doses and start with fluted vases or blue-tinted glassware. Take the blue colour scheme further and bring Freedom’s hand-blown, speckled blue ‘Florentine Tumbler’ into the kitchen. Or serve appetisers on earthy stone-based plates with a striking, blue-glazed finish, like the ‘Portofino’ plates and platters. Discover these new season homewares in store or online here.
