Awards season is well underway as the annual BAFTA Awards for 2025 take place at Londonโ€™s Royal Festival Hall, bringing with it all the glitz, glamour and giggles (if fellow opening monologues this year are anything to go by) weโ€™ve come to love from such a ceremony.

Held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, an independent arts charity, this year marked the 78th year of the event and celebrates the best in the business.

A mix of celebrity and royalty, with Prince William and Kate Middleton often making an appearance, the BAFTAs are as glamorous as awards ceremonies come.

Films like Anora, The Brutalist and Emilia Pรฉrez continue to battle out, all up for Best Film. Cynthia Erivo and Demi Moore are just some of the actresses up for the award for Leading Actress while Adrien Brody and Timothee Chalamet are competing for Lead Actor.

Who Is Hosting The 2025 BAFTAs?

If the above isnโ€™t enough to entice you to tune in, beloved British actor, David Tennant is returning to host the BAFTA Awards for 2025. Itโ€™s his second time hosting the ceremony and he took the opportunity to call out U.S. President Donald Trump

โ€œDonald Trump, he says he hasnโ€™t seen The Apprentice because itโ€™s a 15 [referring to the U.K. film rating]. Itโ€™s not on Nickelodeon. Donald Trump โ€ฆ Iโ€™m worried. Iโ€™ve said his name three times. Itโ€™s like Beetlejuiceโ€” Iโ€™ve summoned him. And talking of villainsโ€ฆโ€ he said before mentioning Nosferatu and Hugh Grant in The Heretic.
