One of the biggest bands in the world, The Beatles, are finally getting the silver screen treatment. Weโve seen hits like Bohemian Rhapsody and Back To Black captivate audiences, and while it only seems apt the โ60s rock group should receive the same treatment, itโs the rumoured casting thatโs got everyone talking.
Whispers had been circling that four of Hollywoodโs it-boys were being pursued for the lead rolesโand it turns out, they were all correct. Director Sam Mendes announced The Beatles movie cast during an appearance at CinemaCon at Las Vegas by bringing the four actorsโPaul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghanโup on stage.
Hereโs everything you need to know about The Beatles movies.
Who Is Cast In The Beatles Movies?
After months of speculation the confirmed cast for The Beatles movie includes Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghan. Hereโs who each star is playingโฆ

Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr
For the chronically online, news of Barry Keoghan joining the cast of The Beatles film as drummer Ringo Starr may not come as a surprise. Early rumours were seemingly been confirmed by Starr himself months prior to the CinemaCon announcement.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Starr was asked what he thought of Keoghan portraying him in the upcoming biopics.
โI think itโs great. I believe heโs somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.โ

Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney
There are no signs of slowing down for our new Gladiator, Paul Mescal. The 28-year-old, who shot to fame on Sally Rooney adaptation, Normal People, has become one of the most sought-after heartthrobs in Hollywood.
It was rumoured Paul had been tapped to play Paul McCartney, and his Gladiator II director, Ridley Scott, accidentally let the news slip early.
During a conversation with fellow filmmaker Christopher Nolan late last year, Ridley was asked if he had plans to cast Paul in his next project, The Dog Stars.
โYes. Maybe. Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go,โ he revealed. Now, itโs official.

Harris Dickinson as John Lennon
The internetโs latest boyfriend is undoubtedly Harris Dickinson. The hype around his latest film, Babygirl, where he plays an intern caught up in a heated affair with his boss, played by Nicole Kidman, was overwhelming.
Now, heโs turning his attention from office affairs to music starrdom as heโs set to portray John Lennon.

Jospeh Quinn as George Harrison
It was initially speculated the role of George Harrison would be portrayed by Charlie Rowe of The Boat That Rocked fame. Soon after, however, reports suggested it would instead be fellow Gladiator II alum, Joseph Quinn. And, they were correct.
Quinn has bounced from hit to hit including a role in Stranger Things and upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four. In fact, it was while filming the upcoming Marvel reboot that Quinn may have given away his status as a Beatle-in-the-making.
Per Deadline, sources out of Europe claimed Quinn had been lugging around a guitar on set, suggesting it was in preparation for his Beatles role. Turns out, they were right.

The Beatles Movie Will Be Split Into Four Separate Films
Telling the story of the โgreatest rock band of all timeโ canโt be rushed it seems. Director Sam Mendes has revealed plans to split the story into four separate films, each focusing on a different member of the Beatles and their point of view.
Per a press release on the film, each movie will intersect and โtell the astonishing story of the greatest band in historyโ before their heartbreaking split in 1970.
โIโm honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,โ Mendes said of splitting the film in four.
Teasing the sheer scale of this project, Sony Picturesโ CEO Tom Rothman says: โTheatrical movie events today must be culturally seismic. Samโs daring, large-scale idea is that and then some. Pairing his premiere filmmaking team, with the music and the stories of four young men who changed the world, will rock audiences all over the globe.โ
When Will The Beatles Movies Be Released?
Along with the CinemaCon cast announcement it has been confirmed that all four of the Beatles movies are slated for a theatrical release in April 2028. Itโs sure to be one hell of a movie marathon.
