The Bachelorette is underway with sisters Elly and Becky Miles in the throes of their search for love together, and this week we were finally introduced to this year’s pool of hopeful suitors. A standout from its first two episodes is the charismatic James ‘Harry’ Harris, who was awarded the elusive “country rose” on its premiere episode.
As host Osher Gunsberg revealed, the winner of that rose would be heading on the first double date of the season with the two Bachelorettes. Harry, who the Miles sisters awarded the rose to, even get to choose the second person heading on the date, strategically picking Shannon (who has expressed his interest in Becky).
But, if you were thinking Harry looked familiar when he arrived on the red carpet—there’s a good reason to believe you’ve seen him before. The reality star previously appeared on another Australian reality franchise, House Rules, alongside his wife at the time, Kate Whiting.
The couple, who share five-year-old son Xavier, appeared on the Channel Seven series in 2018 and announced their split shortly after it aired, following nine years of marriage. The couple sold the house they renovated on the show, telling The Advertiser at the time they had simply “drifted apart.”
It’s unclear if Harry will choose to share his reality television experience while on The Bachelorette, but according to the So Dramatic! podcast, the suitor ends up in hot water later this season.
Host Megan Pustetto claims the ex-House Rules star, who was awarded the country rose by the two “country sisters”, ends up in a love triangle.
We’ll have to wait to see how this unfolds.
