Worlds collide

As Australia said goodbye to yet another season of The Bachelorette, the nation also had to bid adieu to one of the show’s front-runners, Adam Todd.

Adored by the entire country, Todd’s love for rocks—he’s a geologist, after all—his Fabio-like hair and adorable nature won over the hearts of Bachelor fans everywhere.

And while his shock elimination in the semi-final episode felt unfair to some, Todd has apparently followed his heart somewhere else.

During an appearance on The Project on November 5, the 24-year-old admitted to sharing some flirty messages with The Bachelor’s own Bella Varelis, even hinting at a future romance.

“There might have been a bit of sliding [into the direct messages],” Todd said when asked about the potential of dating Varelis, before saying he won’t confirm if there’s anything going on.

And it looks like she has also made her feelings for Todd known on her Instagram through the week.

Sharing an image to her Instagram Story about Elly Miles’ choice to eliminate Todd during Wednesday’s episode, Varelis shared a picture of herself, adding: “Adam, I’ll have you.”

And while their potential romance has broken the hearts of Todd-obsessed Bachelor fans, he continues to state that he’s single and looking for love during interviews.

Since Todd left the show, the internet has also been ablaze with speculation that he may become Australia’s next Bachelor in 2021, with many taking to Twitter to advocate for his return to the screen.

Appearing in an interview with Pedestrian TV, Todd addressed the public’s push to make him our next Bachelor, admitting that he wouldn’t actually be against the idea and that he is still very much single.

“I’m definitely still single!” he revealed. And if we couldn’t love him more, his prerequisite for a female partner are as wholesome and rock-related as you’d think.

“As in a woman—someone that likes rocks as much as me [laughs], maybe someone surfy. But nah, just someone who’s really positive and outgoing and someone who just embraces life and is up for having new experiences and all that.”

When asked if he was interested in swapping spot with Elly and Becky, he said: “I’d definitely give it a shot. On the season I said that I’d never been in love before and if Australia wants to see me fall in love for the first time, I’d definitely do it.”
