The good news keeps coming for Colleen Hoover fans, with another of the author’s best-selling novels being adapted for film: Reminders Of Him.
Following on from adaptations of It Ends With Us as well as the much-anticipated upcoming releases of Verity and Regretting You, the 2022 novel is also heading to the silver screen.
For purists of the original text, you’ll be delighted to know that Hoover co-wrote the screenplay alongside Lauren Levine, who also worked on the Verity adaptation.

Who Will Star In The Movie Reminders Of Him? Cast Announced
The three lead cast for the Reminders Of Him movie have been confirmed, and we must say, they’re a perfect fit.
Maika Monroe has been cast as the film’s protagonist, Kenna Rowan. The 31-year-old actress is best known for her roles in recent horror flick, Long Legs, as well as Watcher and God Is A Bullet alongside Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jamie Foxx.
Playing opposite Maika is Tyriq Withers, and while it’s not confirmed it’s safe to assume he’s playing heartthrob and local bar owner, Ledger Ward. The 26-year-old has been busy lately with upcoming roles in the I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, Him and TV series, Tell Me Lies.
The latest casting announcement comes in Outer Banks star, Rudy Pankow, with Deadline confirming the star will be joining the adaptation. Our guess is that Pankow will portray Scotty Landry, Kenna’s former boyfriend.
What Is Reminds Of Him About?
Reminders Of Him is based on Hoover’s novel of the same name and is a heart wrenching tale about motherhood, redemption and love. Fans can expect heartbreak, a plot twist of two and a steamy, forbidden romance.
The story centres on Kenna who, after serving time in prison, seeks out the daughter she was forced to give up while incarcerated. As she tries to find a way back into her life, the details around the tragic mistake that put her behind bars is revealed.
The official synopsis reads: “After serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, Kenna Rowan returns to the town where it all went wrong, hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter. But the bridges Kenna burned are proving impossible to rebuild. Everyone in her daughter’s life is determined to shut Kenna out, no matter how hard she works to prove herself.
The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. But if anyone were to discover how Ledger is slowly becoming an important part of Kenna’s life, both would risk losing the trust of everyone important to them.”
When Will Reminders Of Him Movie Be Released?
It won’t be long to wait for Hoover fans, Reminders Of Him film adaptation is slated for release on the Valentine’s Day weekend of 2026. It’s expected the film will release in cinemas before making it to a streaming service.
