Celebrities certainly aren’t shy when it comes to sharing their wellness tips and tricks, from the helpful to downright bizarre (we’re looking at you Goop).
A Quiet Place star Emily Blunt has revealed a wellness secret of her own, citing oil of oregano as one of her favourite ways to treat a cold.
“I would say if you feel yourself coming down with a cold, which I’m like the worst person to nominate this because I sound horrible today – tail end of laryngitis,” she told Glamour.
“But… oil of oregano. You sort of just throw a few drops down there. It’s disgusting, you burn your throat but I do tend to find it shortens the cold.”
Delicious.
Oregano oil proponents cite its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities.
Other cold remedies championed by celebrities include whiskey, honey and lemon at night (Amanda Seyfried) while Tiffany Haddish says she drinks a teaspoon of toxic turpentine (please, please, do not do this).
Our hot tip? Perhaps a visit to the doctor might be a good idea.
