The Handmaid’s Tale cleaned up at the Emmys on Monday winning the award for Outstanding Drama, with the show’s lead Elisabeth Moss taking home the trophy for outstanding actress.
While you patiently await the show’s second season, you’ll be pleased to know that Elisabeth is busy with another totally badass, totally Handmaid’s Tale-esque, movie.
Call Jane is a women’s right drama directed by Simon Curtis (My Week With Marilyn and The Woman in Gold) and based on an underground abortion organization from the 1960s which was nicknamed the Jane Collective, before being called simply Jane.
According to Variety, Elisabeth will play the main character in the historical movie, and, while we don’t yet know her character’s name, we do know that she’s a married woman who seeks help from the illegal clinic when she becomes unexpectedly pregnant.
When we know more, you’ll be the first to hear. Praise be.
