Dirty Dancing, AKA arguably the best romance movie of all time, is about to turn 30 and what better way to celebrate than by popping your dancing shoes on and heading to Kellerman’s resort?
That’s right, the fictional vacation resort spot where Baby fell in love and was famously taken out of the corner is actually real – and better yet, you can actually stay there.
The only difference is that Mountain Lake Lodge (the resort’s real name) isn’t actually in the Catskill mountains, as shown in the film.
The estate is found in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, but don’t let the change of area put you off: Mountain Lake Lodge pays homage to the iconic film with Dirty Dancing-themed weekends, where the resort reopens as Kellerman’s Mountain House, four times a year.
During that time they offer a full itinerary of group dance lessons, a movie filming tour and a dance party in Mary’s Barn (where the actual dirty dancing happened.)
