Netflix is currently killing the game when it comes to releasing Christmas movies that are so-bad-it’s-good.
The streaming service offered up the smash-hit A Christmas Prince earlier this month, which featured every bad-movie cliche possible. From the rich boy who didn’t want to be stuck in his incredibly blessed rich life, to the regular girl who was so #relatable because she wore converse with a fancy dress at an important event, this film had it all.
Yes, I was clearly one of the many Netflixers who tuned in and guffawed with glee at the ridiculous plot. And, I’m telling you now, that was just the tip of the Christmas-movie iceberg.
Along with A Christmas Prince came a series of other festive movies to hate-watch, including A Wish For Christmas and A Holiday Christmas, but now Netflix has announced the launch of yet another film and I think it may be the winner this season. Just kidding, ~merriness~ and ~joy~ are the winners this season.
Netflix released the trailer for Christmas Inheritance this week and I am already frothing with festive cheer.
The plot description really speaks for itself when it comes to this one: “To inherit her father’s company, socialite Ellen must first visit his small hometown, where she learns the value of hard work and helping others.”
A wild party girl in a small town? Um, I think I’ve seen this before in a little show called The Simple Life, but I’m willing to let that slide. Considering Christmas Inheritance stars Australian actress Eliza Taylor (Neighbours, The 100), comedian Jake Lacy (How To Be Single) and the wonderful Andie MacDowell (Four Weddings and a Funeral), there’s a chance the actually-decent cast might even be able to pull off this OTT plot.
Check out the trailer below, before heading over to Netflix where the film is ready to watch right now:
