More than 80 percent of Australian women elect to take their spouse’s name after saying “I do” with 96 percent of children taking their father’s surname according to a survey published in 2016. The decision to take your S.O’s name is a personal one, and for most who aren’t famous, it doesn’t change the way we are known by millions of people.

In the world of celebrity weddings those statistics are skewed – makes sense. In fact, there are a few stars who still go by their OG name even though they legally changed it after their big day. Sophie Jonas 

Just one day after tying the knot to Joe Jonas in Vegas, the 23-year-old Game Of Thrones star and maire claire‘s June cover star – confirmed that she’s legally now called, Sophie Belinda Jonas. And she’s not the only Mrs. Jonas in town. Sophie Turner followed in the footsteps of sisters-in-law Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas – rounding out the J-Sisterhood.

Hailey Bieber 

The former Baldwin switched to Bieber officially in November 2018. The daughter of Steven Baldwin confirmed her fast-tracked marriage to Justin Bieber by changing her name on Instagram to @haileybieber and updating her Instagram name to Hailey Rhode Bieber.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas 

Following her lavish wedding celebrations with new husband Nick Jonas, Chopra changed her name to Priyanka Chopra Jonas. “I always wanted to add his name to mine because I feel like we’re becoming family, and I’m a little traditional and old-school like that,” Chopra told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “But I don’t take away my identity: he gets added to who am.”

Miley Ray Hemsworth 

Liam Hemsworth spilled that Miley Cyrus was no more in an interview back in February. Appearing on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Hemsworth corrected host Kelly Ripa when she mentioned he was married to “Miley Cyrus”. He quipped: “Miley Ray Hemsworth now, actually!”

Most people call the Australian-born Portia de Rossi by her given name, but she actually took Ellen’s surname after their wedding—which means she’s legally Portia Lee James Degeneres.
