Given that it can often be one of the biggest relationship milestones for a couple (next to a wedding, perhaps), an ultra-adorable pregnancy announcement is fitting.
For most of today’s celebrities, social media has become the main avenue of choice for famous couples to alert their fans of their incoming arrivals.
Other celebrities prefer to announce their pregnancies in a more low-key fashion, while some go hard or go home—à la Kylie Jenner keeping her fans in limbo for months, or Beyoncé announcing on stage at the MTV VMAs.
Scroll down for the nine best, sweetest, and most extravagant celebrity pregnancy announcements in recent memory.
Kirsten Dunst
On March 31, the Bring It On actress announced she was expecting her second child, revealing the exciting news on the cover of W Magazine in a stunning shoot directed by Sofia Coppola. Dunst already shares 2-year-old son Ennis with husband Jesse Plemons, and just like her first pregnancy announcement, the actress was dressed in Rodarte.
Ashley Graham
Graham and her husband, director Justin Ervin, announced their pregnancy in August 2019, with an adorable video shared to Graham’s Instagram account. Ervin also posted pictures of himself and Graham with their ultrasound on Instagram.
Kylie Jenner
Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner made no formal announcement of her pregnancy until she gave birth to her daughter, Stormi Webster, in February 2018, leaving her hundreds of millions of fans in the dark for months.
Jenner first posted a written announcement on her Instagram account, which read, among other things: “Pregnancy has been the most beautiful, empowering, and life-changing experience I’ve had in my entire life and I’m actually going to miss it.” She then posted a link to a video documenting her pregnancy, titled ‘To Our Daughter’, and then shared this photo of herself and her daughter (which succeeded to become the most-liked photo on Instagram).
Beyoncé
Beyoncé announced her first pregnancy with her daughter, Blue Ivy, during a performance of her song ‘Love On Top’ at the 2011 MTV VMAs. At the end of the performance, the singer ecstatically dropped her microphone and unbuttoned her blazer to rub her burgeoning bump for the audience.
Beyoncé
As far as social media announcements go, Beyoncé’s Instagram post announcing her pregnancy with twins took the cake. The singer shared this editorial-style picture to her Instagram account in February 2017, with the caption: “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”
Irina Shayk
Model Irina Shayk announced her pregnancy with her then-partner, Bradley Cooper, by walking the runway at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show while six months pregnant. The couple later welcomed their daughter, Lea de Seine, in March 2017.
Kirsten Dunst
Actress Dunst made no official announcement of her pregnancy on social media. Instead, fashion house Rodarte shared images from their autumn/winter ’18 series featuring Dunst in February 2018, which became the official first photographs of the actress’s bump. If we’re ranking pregnancy announcements by most fashionable, Dunst’s definitely sits top of the list.
Lily Aldridge
In August 2018, model Lily Aldridge surprised fans by announcing her second pregnancy with her husband, Caleb Followill, on Instagram, with the simple caption “SURPRISE”. A month later, she walked the runway for Brandon Maxwell at New York Fashion Week while pregnant.

In 2017, model and occasional actress Huntington-Whiteley shared this beach photo to announce her pregnancy with her fiancé, Jason Statham. Huntington-Whiteley accompanied the gorgeous picture with the caption: “Very happy to share that Jason and I are expecting!! Lots of love Rosie x Photo by @jasonstatham.”
