While it’s quite difficult to consider any glamorous Hollywood celebrity without a sparkling glass of champagne in their hand,
there are an array of famous faces who prefer to steer clear of alcohol entirely.
Whether they’ve had regrettable experiences or if they simply prefer the benefits of staying sober, the choice to not drink alcohol is an incredibly personal one, that many celebrities adhere to.
Below, we have rounded up 16 of our favourite celebrities who have decided to completely abstain from drinking alcohol all together.

“Everybody has their own journey and I’m not interested in telling other people what to do but I know that this was a decision that I’ve never regretted.”
Macpherson said sobriety required “discipline and persistence” but that she needed to quit alcohol to feel “present” in her life.
“It’s very difficult to get to know yourself if you’re numbing yourself,” she added.
Chrissy Teigen
In December 2020, Chrissy Teigen revealed on Instagram that she’d made the decision to become sober after one fan commented on a post joking that she needed “whatever drugs” Teigen was using. At the time, the Cravings founder replied, “4 weeks sober 💕🙏🏼💕🙏🏼💕.”
The mother-of-two later revealed she’d made the decision to stop drinking for a variety of reasons. “One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,” Teigen shared on Instagram Stories on New Year’s Eve. “I was done making an ass of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like shit by 6, not being able to sleep. I have been sober ever since.”
Attending the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in January 2020, Teigen shared her experience being in D.C. for the historic occasion, noting that being sober only enhanced the moment with husband John Legend and their two children, Luna and Miles.
“Ran our asses up the stairs for this shot. Just incredible to be here. Sober,” she tweeted on January 20. “I know that’s weird but it’s like…a different world for me. Everything is new and better. Very happy. The most happy bigly happy.”
