However, the 38-year-old made a brief return during a live television cross from the U.K. last week. On Wednesday, Carrie revealed on her HIT Network radio show that fans had noticed possible nodules on her neck.

I popped onto The Project live from London to do a cross last week about me getting an OAM (the Order of Australia),” she began. Carrie explained that after filming the segment, a producer from the show told her he had received a message from a concerned member of the public.

The producer passed on a note that read: “Hi there, my mum’s a GP and was watching the show and noticed what she thought was a thyroid gland on Carrie’s neck and said she should get it checked.”

Coincidently, Carrie’s co-host Tommy Little admitted that he experienced a similar health scare after appearing on The Project.

“’I got a message from a friend and it said, ‘Hello mate, my step-mum is a thyroid surgeon and she saw you on TV and think you might have a thyroid nodule,’” Tommy shared.

That ‘step-mum’ happens to be Dr Meei Yeung, who called into Carrie and Tommy’s radio show to give her expert opinion.

“At the base of your neck something was moving,” Dr Yeung told Tommy. “The best thing to do is to have it properly investigated.”

The medical expert then told Carrie, whose auto-immune issues could potentially cause nodules, that she should also go to the doctor.
