When we think of weddings, we think of white lace dresses, decorative bouquets of flowers and a glowing bride surrounded by her many smiling bridesmaids.
…but according to Pinterest’s 2017 wedding report, this image of a typical wedding may soon be no more.
The once popular wedding trend of having several bridesmaids is starting to lose traction, with the report stating that searches for more intimate, selective ceremonies have increased by 100%.
The report also identifies some less common wedding trends that are gaining popularity, including wedding tattoos, taco bars and blue suits for the groom… that’s right, taco bars.
The report lists a number of possible reasons for the drop in popularity of bridesmaids, including the difficulty in picking from a large group of friends, the cost of paying for bridesmaids dresses and the increase in smaller, more family oriented ceremonies.
