He’s the man responsible for Blake Lively’s 27-kilogram post-baby weight loss (for the record, it took her 14 months), so we’re prepared to follow personal trainer Don Saladino’s workout advice – especially when doing so sounds surprisingly easy.
Speaking to W, Saladino revealed that a gruelling exercise regimen isn’t necessarily the best one for you. In fact, he advocates listening to your body instead.
“More intensity does not necessarily mean better,” Saladino insists. “The idea that the more you sweat, the better the training is completely false.”
“You can do a lot with training only three days a week,” he says. “The coaches that try to push 100 per cent all the time are usually the coaches you should steer clear from.”
His workouts usually begin with breathing and foam rolling, then move onto a dynamic warmup, strength circuits and cardio.
And if you’re pushed for time, Saladino is still on your side. “Sometimes 10 minutes a day is all we have and all we can handle,” he tells W. “Just getting the body moving is a great reset for the mind and body.”
Now that we can do (unless, of course, our body tells us what it really wants is to watch Netflix on the couch).
