One thing that always ends up stealing the spotlight on every season of Australia’s Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise, is the mansion that the contestants reside in.
From the alpacas roaming around the sprawling grounds, to the glimpses of stunning panoramic views that we’ve seen through the show, the set homes are just as eye-catching as the drama and gowns.
And one of the show’s most famous homes has to be the water-front mega mansion from season one of The Bachelor, which saw the beginnings of one of the franchises’s success stories; Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich—who recently welcomed their first child together.
While the filming took place back in 2013, Clive Thomas—the freight tycoon who owned the property—only recently sold it for a cool $9.5 million.
Located in a quiet, leafy part of Sydney’s Northern Beaches (the same suburb Chris and Lyn Dawson resided in during their marriage) the luxurious mansion contains six bedrooms and six bathrooms, spread across three expansive levels.
Also included is a sauna, tennis court, gymnasium, games room, pool and spa, as well as a wine cellar and outdoor kitchen—making it very easy for contestants to keep occupied while waiting for host Osher to roll around with a date card.
The French provincial-style architecture, with multiple balconies and sandstone terraces wrapped around the landmark, highlights the idyllic bay views that look out onto Pittwater.
The home also boasts ample privacy, perfect for avoiding any show spoilers.
