It wouldn’t be Christmas without festive movie marathons that don’t hold back on the cheesy. And while nothing is going to get in our way of watching Will Ferrell’s iconic Elf on repeat, we won’t say no to adding a new flick into the rotation. And Anna Kendrick’s new movie Noelle is *exactly* what we all need this year to get into the holiday spirit.

Noelle is not your classic Christmas rom-com (if you’re looking for one of those, check out all of these newbies on Netflix), it’s about a girl named Noelle Kringle who happens to be Santa’s daughter.

When her father passes away, her brother (Bill Hader) is next in line to be Santa, but he’s not ready. Noelle puts him through Santa training but when it doesn’t go well, she suggests he take the weekend off to re-find his passion for Christmas.

But he doesn’t come back. So Noelle goes to Phoenix, Arizona, to drag him away from his new life as a yoga instructor. Never having been in the ‘real world’ before, she has a lot to learn.
