After years of documenting her own romantic misadventures, this season sees Bradshaw channelling her experiences into fiction. It’s a new chapter for the writer, whose professional identity has been so closely tied to her real-life narrative.
The Aiden Situation
The trailer confirms what many fans have been speculating: Aiden Shaw remains in Carrie’s life, though not without complications. “It’s complicated with Aiden but I’m trying to figure it out,” Carrie tells her friends, suggesting their relationship status isn’t straightforward. This continuation of their long, tumultuous history promises to be a central storyline. Stay tuned.
What Fans Are Saying
Yes, we’re still fixated on who’s missing rather than who’s present. “Another year, another season, and still no Samantha. When will our prayers be answered?” one fan commented online. “We want Samantha,” stated another. We all want Samantha back, but sadly, you don’t always get what you want. She’s not coming back anytime soon.
“No one talking about where’s Che?” noted one fan, while others wonder about characters from seasons past: “They need to bring back the old boyfriends… like did Berger get married to Lauren after he left Carrie? Or what about the Russian?”
One things for certain – we’re still divided on Aiden. While many of us want the Carrie and Aiden love story to end well (“It better work out with Aiden,” said one fan), others aren’t so invested. “Please let’s move on from Aiden and introduce someone new,” said another fan.
What Is The Release Date For And Just Like That Season 3?
A release date for AJLT season three has been confirmed. The new season will premiere of May 30 with new episodes dropping weekly. This season will have 12 episodes and see the season finale air around August 15.
Who Is In The Cast Of And Just Like That Season 3?
Fans can expect the return of Carrie and her best pals, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis), as they navigate life and friendship in their 50s.
“We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” said executive producer and showrunner Michael Patrick King in a statement. “And Just Like That… here comes season three.”
Meanwhile, we have a new addition in Rosie O’Donnell as a character named Mary. A native New Yorker, O’Donnell is a long-time acquaintance of both SJP and Cynthia Nixon.
We can also expect to see the return of Sarita Choudhury (Seema) and Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa) in season three, judging by the focus of their own separate storylines in seasons one and two.
Sara Ramírez (Che) and Karen Pittman (Nya), however, will not be returning after the former’s storyline ended in season two, and the latter was unable to make it work due to scheduling conflicts.
As for Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha in the original franchise, while she made a cameo in season two’s final episode, it’s unlikely we’ll see anything more from her given her history with the franchise (more on that here).

Season three was confirmed last year before the season two finale even aired.
You might remember that Carrie bought herself a Gramercy Park mansion, which she intended to share with Aidan before a family emergency with his son beckoned him back.
