It’s official, winter is well and truly on its way. So what better way to get excited for the cold than bask in the nostalgia of TV shows from the 80s, 90s and 2000s?
Netflix has answered our prayers and recently added to its almost endless collection with the TV shows that made us laugh, cry and cringe through life way back when.
Full House (1987 – 1995)
From loveable Uncle Joey and gorgeous Jesse to the incredibly adorable Tanner twins (played by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen), this show will take you back.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (1990 – 1996)
With its catchy theme song that most of us can still recite word for word, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s classic 90s flair is all we need.
Party of Five (1994 – 2000)
As the Salingers they stole our hearts, and today they’re ready to do it again. Party of Five is the perfect Netflix series for a rainy night in.
That ’70s Show (1998 – 2006)
With its funky, retro style, classic comedy and transcending themes, there is a reason That ’70s Show will remain an all time favourite. Plus you can watch Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher growing up together (their friendship from this show later turned into marriage!)
Gilmore Girls (2000 – 2007, and 2017)
Lorelai and Rory. Need we say more?
Freaks and Geeks (1999 – 2000)
Highlights from this show include its ‘Bad Reputation’ theme song, dope-smoking bad-boys and a peek at the youth of a star-studded cast who are today’s Hollywood’s A-listers. Freaks and Geeks will have you laughing all week. Oh, and need we remind you again about young James Franco?
Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1990 – 2000)
Ah, remember being spooked by the Midnight Society and their horror stories in the woods? Relive the scary tales…
3rd Rock From the Sun (1996 – 2001)
Ever since Dick, Harry, Sally and Tommy Solomon invaded Earth all those years ago, have you ever really trusted anybody? Now we can indulge in the idea that aliens are living amongst us over and over again!
Round The Twist (1989 – 2001)
What better way to spend a Saturday night than experiencing the adventures of the Twist family in their haunted house as many times as you want?
Pokemon (1997 – present)
If you’re really feeling like reliving your childhood, you can even re-join Ash, Brock, Tracey and of course Pikachu in their quests to become Pokemon Masters.
