Selena Gomez has been busying focusing on her singing, touring the world and dominating Instagram, so it’s easy to forget that she actually got her start as an actress.
The trailer for her latest film The Fundamentals of Caring has just been released and is quite a departure for the former Disney star.
The Fundamentals of Caring follows Ben, played by Paul Rudd, a retired writer who becomes a caregiver after suffering a personal tragedy. Ben’s first client is 18-year-old Trevor who suffers from muscular dystrophy.
The pair take an impromptu road trip and they meet a runaway along the way, played by Gomez.
The film, which is an adaptation of Jonathan Evison’s 2012 novel The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
