Warning: This article contains Why Women Kill spoilers.
It comes as no surprise that most of us have spent the past year devouring on-screen content. And while certain major streaming services continue to push out endless offerings, lesser known platforms have also impressed with a refined selection of films and TV series bound for a binge-watch.
One of them being Why Women Kill.
Thankfully, fans can rest assured that their series will be returning to their screens once more after a second season was confirmed.
And while the intertwining stories of Beth Ann, Simone and Taylor—and melodic bloodshed in the last episode—still piques interest, there’s one main question that fans can’t stop asking: What happens next?
Made by the creator of Desperate Housewives, the show has garnered comparisons to its predecessor as well as Netflix’s Dead To Me, and frankly, it’s only natural that fans are desperately wanting to see more.
Has Why Women Kill Been Confirmed For A Season 2?
Starting as a CBS All-Access series in August 2019—and having rebranded as Paramount+—the streaming service officially renewed the series for a second season back in October 2019, prior to the last few episodes of the show being released online.
In the first season of the series, Why Women Kill followed three different women living in three different time periods—1963, 1984, and 2019—who were all connected after having lived in the same mansion in Pasadena, California, where they eventually became murderers.
The first season saw each character sport a different motive for killing someone close to them, and by the end of the season, the twisting path that bound them together was revealed.
What Is The Plot Of The Second Season Of Why Women Kill?
Season one of Why Women Kill detailed the lives of Beth Ann, Simone and Taylor, living in three different decades, each dealing with infidelity in their marriages. The series examines how the roles of women have changed, but their reaction to betrayal… has not.
Despite spanning multiple decades, the show is continuously set in the same mansion in the affluent Los Angeles neighbourhood of Pasadena, where each of the central characters lived during their time. It sets the backdrop for their stories to be intriguingly intertwined throughout the series, underscored by their shared experiences of betrayal.
As for season two, the 10-episode season is set to follow a new ensemble cast and will be set in 1949. Per the description, it “explores what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society, and finally, the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong”.
