Per the official synopsis, the movie is “a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th-century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in The French Dispatch magazine”.

The forthcoming project will see the 24-year-old reunite with Saorise Ronan for the third time – a pairing which never fails to prove a crowd-pleaser.

Chalamet and Ronan starred in the Greta Gerwig ‘Little Women’ remake

The silver screen duo recently played the inseparable Jo and Laurie in Little Women after first garnering our attention in 2017 coming-of-age hit Lady Bird, both of which were directed by Greta Gerwig.

“They have an energy between them that is like they become a bonfire when they’re together,” Gerwig recently said on the duo. “They’re both so alive and they’re both so talented and so smart and so young. When you put them together, it’s like combustion.”

Though they aren’t the only starry names to make the credits, as Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Elisabeth Moss, Frances McDorman and Bill Murray all feature in the upcoming film – which looks set to be a visual masterpiece.

The trailer teases three pivotal storylines which bring a collection of stories published in the New York-based paper to the big screen: ‘The Concrete Masterpiece’, ‘Revisions to a Manifesto’ and ‘The Private Dining Room’.

If you can’t wait until then for your Chalamet fix (we most certainly cannot) then we highly recommend tuning in to watch the 2020 Oscars on February 10, as the actor will present an award during the prestigious ceremony.

The French Dispatch marks Anderson’s 10th film venture and will land in theatres on July 24.
