1998: Impeachment
President Bill Clinton appears with First Lady Hillary Clinton to make a statement to reporters outside the oval office following his impeachment by the US House of Representatives in 1998. Clinton rejected calls for his resignation after the House impeached him on one count of perjury and obstruction of justice. This came following the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
2000: Senate
Hillary, as the first First Lady to run for political office, defeats Congressman Rick Lazio to become the United States Senator from New York.
2004: Little Rock

2005: Ground Zero

Now as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama host an awards ceremony to announce the 2009 recipients of the Secretary of State’s Award for International Women of Courage. The awards were given to eight women from around the world who showed leadership while struggling for social justice and human rights.
