Sophie Monk has opened up about what really happened in her relationship with her reality TV love, Stu Laundy, clearing up the rumours that the publican found out about their split over Instagram.
โI wanted to get married, settle down, have children,โ Sophie tells A Current Affair. โI donโt get the opportunity to meet people that often,โ she explains of her decision to try and find love on The Bachelorette.
And for a while, at least, it did seem like Sophie finally got her happy ending.
โIโve never been as happy as that moment,โ she says of the seriesโ finale with Stu.
But once they the show finished, Sophie says things went downhill quickly.
โI think afterwards, once you go out into the real world, I just realised weโre so different. Youโre in a bubble and you come out of that.โ
โI kept trying to make it work,โ she trails off. โI gave it my best shot, I didnโt go into this half-arsed, I went into it full and happy to commit.โ
Though Stu claims he found out about their split via Sophieโs Instagram (above), she says it all fell apart when they were in Canada for Christmas and New Yearโs.
โIt ended in Canada,โ she says, โwe didnโt break up over Instagram.โ
โI think when you go on holiday with someone you really get to know someone and it was just yeah, it got to the point that, again all I can say is that weโre just very different people,โ she continues.
โYou clash when youโve got different morals.โ
โIโm disappointed,โ Sophie says, before tearing up and walking off camera.
On life after Stu, Soph says sheโs definitely planning on having children โ with or without a partner.
Currently, she says sheโs looking into freezing her eggs.
โIโm definitely doing it. Weโre looking into [starting a family] now. I definitely want babies.โ
On whether sheโs looking for love again, Sophie, in her classic funny fashion, says: โI think Iโll give it a week. Iโm a bit tired.โ
But in all seriousness? โI believe in fairytales still,โ she says. โI love love.โ
And we love you, Sophie Monk.
