The Pantone Colour Institute has announced the annual colour of the year, well we’ll give them this, it is very environmentally friendly.
Yep you guessed it, it’s the zesty green!
The colour authority announced that shade of the year is Pantone 15-0343 (aka “Greenery”) on Thursday.
Pantone Colour Institute executive director Leatrice Eisenman said in a press release: “While Serenity and Rose Quartz, the Pantone Colour of the Year 2016, expressed the need for harmony in a chaotic world… Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize, and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.”
Last year’s colour was pinky Rose Quartz and baby blue-ish Serenity 6, Pantone describing them as “welcoming colors that fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security.”
Incase you were wondering what the colour selection is all about, according to their official website it is “a symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.”
However the best part of this year’s reveal are the hilarious social media reactions that have ensued.
