Ever since Prime Minister Scott Morrison returned from his Hawaiian holiday in the midst of Australia’s ongoing bushfires, he has received non-stop scrutiny from the public, media and now, even RFS volunteer Jacqui. A brief exchange between the PM and volunteer firefighter was posted to Twitter, and has since gone viral.

Morrison spent the day on Monday visiting fire-stricken towns of NSW, and on one visit to an evacuation centre in the country town of Mudgee, the PM was introduced to Rural Fire Service Volunteer, Jacqui.
“Jacqui, this is the prime minister,” federal MP Andrew Gee says.
“He’s not my prime minister,” Jacqui quipped.

While the footage, which was captured by The Project was only brief, the Prime Minister’s office claimed the conversation continued off-camera. Morrison later tweeted the reference was to Jacqui being British, explaining that he is literally “not her Prime Minister”.
“Indeed, as Jacqui joked with me yesterday, I’m not her PM, because she’s British, Boris Johnson is. But with local MP Andrew Gee, we made a decent pitch for her to become an Aussie yesterday. She & the other RFS volunteers have been doing an incredible job battling these blazes,” Morrison wrote.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Mr Gee further explained the three laughed when Jacqui declared Mr Morrison wasn’t her PM.
“Jacqui is a British, citizen, not Australian, with quite a clear British accent,” Mr Gee said.
“We were jokingly trying to get her to sign up for Aussie citizenship after Jacqui lightheartedly (but correctly) pointed out that ScoMo wasn’t her PM for that reason. Boris is Jacqui’s PM!”
Whatever the case may be, Twitter couldn’t help themselves with the hashtag #notmyPM trending.
