Sometimes we have to feel sorry for male celebs – it’s hard to stand out on the red carpet between all the fabulous gowns and glamorous hair and makeup looks of their female counterparts. But when it came to the 2019 GQ Men of The Year Awards red carpet, Sam Smith stole the show.
From his black lace shirt peeking through a sharp tux with satin lapels, to his glowing skin and signature rugged facial hair, he looked THE part.
But the real showstopper was his shoes. For the first time on the red carpet, Sam wore heels.
“They’ll always be my virgin heels”, he said in an Instagram post that showed the Gucci heeled boots close up.
Between the exclamations of “F*CK YES!!” and “my GORJ Gucci heels”, he also shared a really touching confession:
“There was a time where I thought I’d never ever ever be able to be myself like this in front of the industry or anyone. It feels so good and I just wanted to share that with you all…”
