Rihanna was the undisputed queen of this year’s Met Gala, dressed in an incredible Comme des Garçons look straight off the autumn/winter 2016 runway.
As the theme for this year’s ball was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons, a tribute to the iconic designer and her legendary work, Rihanna’s outfit choice couldn’t have been more fitting.
However, as guests arrived at the red carpet event, it was clear that a lot didn’t adhere to the night’s dress up theme, most wearing elegant evening dresses which paid no homage to Kawakubo and her label.

A meme was (of course) soon created, which pointed out how boring most of the night’s outfits were.
Rihanna quickly liked the post which took a dig at other Met attendees, confirming she was just as bored of the red carpet looks as the rest of the world.
She also posted an Instagram rounding up which ‘Best Dressed’ lists she topped.
Maybe next year everyone will dress in theme? But right now, all we care about is what RiRi will be wearing.
