Rihannah and A$AP Rocky have officially revealed the name of their second child, just a month after it was born.
The famed singer, who performed at the 2023 SuperBowl while pregnant with her bundle of joy, gave birth on August 3, 2023 in Los Angeles.
News of the birth was first reported by TMZ, noting that sources confirmed the couple had welcomed another baby boy.
The happy couple are notoriously private when it comes to their family life, not even revealing the name of their firstborn, RZA, until he was one-year-old. However fans have been treated to the reveal of their second baby’s name much sooner, with multiple sources reporting the child is called Riot Rose.
On September 20, Vogue confirmed the name.
As for the meaning behind the name, fans have been quick to note that it appears to reference A$AP Rocky’s song, Riot, which he released earlier this year with Pharrell.
The sweet name is also in keeping with the alliteration of the rest of the family’s names: Rihanna (Robyn Rihanna Fenty), A$AP Rocky (Rakim Athelston Mayers), and RZA Athelston Mayers.
The last time we saw Rihanna publicly was towards the end of June. The singer attended an evening of music with Spotify in a sheet dress and bikini during Cannes Lions 2023.
While Rihanna didn’t give many interviews whilst pregnant, she did open up to British Vogue in March about wanting to have more children and not minding the baby’s sex.
“Listen, I’m down for whatever,” she said. “My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here. I’m open. Girl, boy. Whatever.”
The starlet also told Entertainment Tonight that her pregnancy with the second child was very different than the first.
“It’s so different from the first one,” Rihanna shared. “No cravings. Tons of nausea. Everything’s different, but I’m enjoying it.”
A huge congratulations to the happy couple.
