Queensland Woman Allegedly Kidnapped And Driven Into Bushland

A frightening 16-hour long order

In the middle of the night on Wednesday, 20-year-old Jessica Hamill went missing from her far north Queensland home.

Horrifying details have now emerged about the young woman’s disappearance, with The Courier Mail reporting that Ms Hamill was allegedly abducted from Port Douglas, driven into bushland and “held against her will” for 16 hours.

Her family reported the property agent missing when she failed to show up to work.

Police allege that Ms Hamill was abducted by a 24-year-old man that was known to her.

A large-scale manhunt—including dozens of police and a helicopter—scoured far north Queensland for the missing 20-year-old.

The day-long ordeal ended when the man crashed his station wagon down an embankment on the Kennedy Highway with the missing woman in the back of the car, ABC News reports.

Ms Hamill was found by police and was treated for minor injuries in hospital.

A Queensland police officer told 9 News that Ms Hamill is now safe and has been reunited with her family.

“She was visibly distressed and was very relieved to be safe again and contacted her family who met her at the hospital which is a great result,” he said.

The man has been arrested and will face charges today.
