According to Vanity Fair, Her Majesty has bonded with Kate Middleton in recent months over their shared ability to balance family life with regal duties.
“Her [the Duchess of Cambridge’s] mantra is very like the Queen’s ‘keep calm and carry on’ approach in life, and she has the added benefit of making the royal family seem almost normal and in touch,” a source told royal correspondent Katie Nicholl.
Further demonstrating the mother-of-three’s ability to convey a relatable image to the public, royal biographer, Claudia Joseph, told the publication: “She’s very much the girl next door, from how she dresses to how she behaves and interacts with people on engagements.”
“She is likeable and relatable and that has made her very popular.”
In recent months, the Duchess of Cambridge has worked hard to curate a down-to-earth image.
Following the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s five-day tour of Pakistan, the royal penned her first Instagram caption since becoming a member of The Firm.
In a surprise move which pleased fans, Kate took to the digital platform to share a series of candid photographs from the SOS Children’s Village in Lahore – a nonprofit organisation which rehomes vulnerable children.
Speaking about the couple’s historic experience in Pakistan, she captioned the post: “The community at the SOS Village is built around family – and the best possible family you could imagine – where everyone comes together to nurture, love and protect the children in their care.”
In a surprisingly personal touch, the royal even signed off the post with just her first name.
“These vulnerable children, many who have come through traumatic circumstances, are nurtured in this caring environment and are able to form these quality relationships that they so desperately need to thrive. – Catherine,” she concluded the post.

If that wasn’t enough to lower the palace walls slightly, the 37-year-old was recently spotted purchasing Halloween costumes for Prince George and Princess Charlotte at a Sainsbury’s branch in Hardwick, Cambridgeshire.
Then speculation is rife that Kate snuck through a secret door of the Hollywood Arms pub in Chelsea to mingle with fellow parents of children at Thomas’s Battersea where Prince George and Princess Charlotte attend.
Kate stood alongside the monarch on the balcony of the Foreign Office, as they watched Prince Charles lead the ceremony – the third time in which he has taken on the prestigious role.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex paid her respects from a separate balcony with Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
