Barely two months after Prince Louis’ meme-worthy display at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee went viral, his older sister Princess Charlotte has delivered the goods once again.
The seven-year-old royal attended the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England with her mum Kate Middleton and dad Prince William on Tuesday. Together, the trio sat in the stands of the Sandwell Aquatics Centre to watch the swimming.
Just like any of us who’ve watched the competitive races unfold this week (and celebrated the phenomenal efforts from Australia’s swim team), young Charlotte was well and truly invested. And we mean really invested.
Photos of the royal pulling faces, covering her eyes and animatedly cheering from the stands have gone viral, and frankly, we can relate.
Twitter exploded with reactions from royal watchers who were amused by Charlotte’s display.
“The highs and lows of live sport…as told by Princess Charlotte,” wrote ITV’s Lizzie Robinson.
“Princess Charlotte is all of us watching sport,” read a tweet from the official Twitter account of the English Commonwealth Games team.
Of course, there was another noteworthy element to the royal appearance: Kate’s flawless monochrome ensemble.
The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a chic white tailored blazer paired with matching trousers. Designed by Alexander McQueen, the suit retails for a cool AUD $3,400. She wore her hair loose, and accessorised with a pair of sparkling drop earrings.
The Cambridge family have had a busy summer of public appearances, starting with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June. In July, the Duke and Duchess attended the Wimbledon Championships with son Prince George, and not long after, the royal couple were pictured at a polo match together (it included an extremely rare PDA). Earlier this week, the Duchess also attended a sailing regatta in Plymouth. Lots on, apparently.
It’s expected the family will attend more Commonwealth Games events as the competition continues—who knows, maybe Prince Louis will bring his meme A-game once again too…
