Yesterday, Kensington Palace announced the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Naturally, chaos ensued, especially when photos of the happy couple – and the stunning engagement ring – dropped.
Though the palace confirmed that the royal wedding would take place in spring 2018 (sometime between April and July), now we know the exact date and location the pair is tieing the knot.
In a statement overnight, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan will wed at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in May 2018.
“Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel,” it reads, before revealing that the Royal Family will pay for the wedding.
Yesterday, Harry spoke candidly about how he popped the question to Markle, telling the BBC that he proposed to Meghan over a roast chicken dinner.
“She didn’t even let me finish, she said, ‘Can I say yes? Can I say yes?’” he explained. “And then were was hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like, ‘Can I—can I give you the ring?’ She goes, ‘Oh yes, the ring.’”
“It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think managed to catch her by surprise as well,” Harry said.
Congrats to the happy couple! And here’s to 2018 for bringing us both a royal baby and a royal wedding!
