Prince Harry Revealed The Story Behind His First London Meet-Up With Meghan Markle & It’s Too Cute

Adorable.

If there’s one story we’d like full details on, it’s the love story of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle. The royal lovebirds have, over the years, revealed small pieces of their romance journey, and Harry has yet again dropped a tidbit for us all today on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast.

The podcast, which sees actor Dax Shepard sit down with other celebrities to get candid about their lives, aired this week, with US-based Prince Harry discussing various facets of his life, including therapy and the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana.

But the sweetest moment had to be when Harry told Dax about the first covert meet-up he and Meghan Markle had, when Meghan was visiting London.

“The first time that Meghan and I met up for her to come and stay with me, we met up in a supermarket in London, pretending that we didn’t know each other,” he told the podcast host.

We’re texting each other from the other side of the aisles. There are people looking at me, giving me all these weird looks, and coming up to me and saying hi.”

Harry continued, saying he was trying so hard to be unrecognisable that he, er, got very well-acquainted with the floor.

I had baseball cap on, looking down at the floor, trying to stay incognito. It’s amazing how much chewing gum you see, it’s a mess!”

It just adds to the cuteness of the royal couple’s love story, which began when the pair were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. From there, as we all recall, the couple went on a romantic trip to Botswana, where the isolation allowed them to fall in love away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.

Prince Harry also spoke about the place therapy has in his life these days, after his Oprah interview shed light on the mental health battles he and Meghan Markle had been experiencing.

“Once I started doing therapy, it was like the bubble was burst. I plucked my head out of the sand and gave it a good shake off and I was like, ‘You’re in this position of privilege, stop complaining and stop thinking you want something different—make this different, because you can’t get out. How are you going to do these things differently? How are you going to make your mum proud and use this platform to really affect change?’,” he said to Dax.

Princess Diana’s experience also impacted his decision to step back from royal duties early on.

“I was in my early 20s and I was thinking I don’t want this job, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be doing this. Look what it did to my mum. How am I ever going to settle down and have a wife and family, when I know it’s going to happen again?”

The couple seem happy and settled in America, with Meghan Markle penning a children’s book and a Netflix show in the works.
