It was a family affair at the soccer this week, with the royal family—including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and their eldest Prince George—attending the Euro 2020 match between England and Germany at Wembley Stadium (which saw the hosting team come out victorious).
The event saw the little royal go viral, thanks in large part to his adorable navy suit jacket and red and blue tie, which matched almost identically to his father, Prince William’s. Kate, on the other hand, opted for a bold pop of red wearing a Zara blazer.
Apparently, the six-year-old has long been a major soccer fan, with his dad revealing in 2019 that Prince George listens to the Three Lions football team anthem every morning when he wakes up. “I thought it would fade away but it hasn’t. He still plays it every day,” Prince William said.
Kate Middleton has said the same, telling a fan during a charity soccer match: “I should have picked up some tips from George!”
The family outing comes as the future monarch returned home from a royal trip to Scotland, which he attended alongside his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
It’s also a big week for the royals, with Prince Harry returning to the U.K. following the birth of his daughter Lilibet Diana to unveil a statue of the late Princess Diana at Kensington Palace, which will mark the first time he reunites with William since Prince Philip’s funeral.
The statue is in honour of what would have been the Princess of Wales’ 60th birthday.
