Prada and Adidas just dropped a first look at their collaboration collection, and yes, these luxe athleisure essentials will drop just in time for Christmas so start spreading the word to your loved ones. You need these on your wish list.
Rumours surrounding the two fashion powerhouses collaborating started in October and was confirmed earlier this month, with Prada hinting that a sneaker would be among the line-up when they showed adidas shoe boxes in a Prada shopping bag.
And they didn’t mislead us. The just-revealed collection includes two limited edition pieces: a sneaker and a bowling bag.
“Premium materials. Iconic details. Prada for adidas Limited Edition,” reads one of Prada’s Instagram captions, which also announced the items will be available from December 4 at adidas.com, prada.com and selected Prada stores worldwide.
“The first release – Prada for adidas Limited Edition – is an homage to adidas, championing an emblematic adidas Originals shoe – the Superstar sneaker, originally launched in 1969 and still a lynchpin of adidas Originals style,” reads Prada’s press release.
The classic Superstar sneakers feature Prada’s Spazzolato Rois full-grain leather for the upper with the signature adidas Originals rubber shell toe. Other luxury details include the herringbone-pattern rubber cupsole, serrated triple-stripe and a Trefoil logo-pint on the heel alongside the Prada logotype.
The second piece in the collection is a new bag silhouette that combines Prada luxury with adidas accessibility. “[The collection] also introduces a new bag silhouette, the Prada Bowling bag for adidas, which echoes the Prada Bowling bag as well as the adidas gym bag, in and of itself referencing the world of sports, a style that serves to illustrate the shared narratives and intersecting heritages of Prada and adidas.”
The white bag with black trimming is made with City Sport calf leather and has a detachable black sports nylon strap.
The exclusive collection will launch with just 700 pieces, each numbered with a unique serial number.
