The SAG red carpet has been the scene of an expected The Parent Trap cast reunion.

Lisa Ann Walter, who played Chessy in the 1998 Nancy Meyer’s film, was attending the SAG awards for her role in Abbott Elementary and chose to bring her The Parent Trap co-star Elaine Hendrix as her date

For those who need reminder, Hendrix played the role of evil to-be stepmother Meredith Blake, who had her sights set on the twin’s (played by Lindsay Lohan) father.

Walter on the other hand, played the twin’s lovable nanny and housekeeper, Chessy, who if you might recall, was not a fan of Meredith’s antics.

But the duo, who have stayed close friends since the film, seemed to have a wonderful time walking arm-in-arm on the SAG red carpet

For their red carpet looks, Hendrix donned a a chic black tuxedo while Walter opted for a long off-the-shoulder black gown, which she “found five years ago.”

“When I saw it I was entirely unemployed and I said I’m gonna wear this to the SAG awards,” Walter told PEOPLE

The pair’s red carpet appearance also isn’t the first time the co-stars have shared their friendship with the world.

In 2019, Walters opened up about their long-standing friendship in an interview with Vanity Fair, when she explainedElaine is family. She knows all my kids, and we don’t need anybody else. We have each other. Elaine’s my sister now; I adopted her.”

Then, to the delight of Parent Trap fans, the friends re-created one of their The Parent Trap scenes on social media in 2021, with Hendrix, while reprising her role as Meredith, ringing a tiny bell to call an annoyed Chessy.

By the sounds of their antics, we’re not surprised that these two have stayed so tight over the years—we’d like to be their friend too!
