Margot Robbie And Ryan Gosling Are Reuniting For The ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ Prequel

The 'Barbie' stars will reunite as leads in the upcoming prequel to the hit 'Oceans' franchise.

The Barbie movie’s iconic duo, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, are joining forces once again, as the leads in the upcoming Ocean’s Eleven prequel.

Despite the film being in the works for a while, we haven’t heard a lot about the upcoming project—until now. 

At the 2023 BFI Film Festival, producer Josey McNamara gave us a little more insight into the film and it’s lead duo, when he said, “They’re wonderful together.” 

“The more projects even outside of that we can have them do would be amazing.”

The producer also said that while he couldn’t say much about the film, he said “we’re just trying to do right by the franchise. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.”

So, what can we expect from the Oceans Eleven prequel? Everything you need to know, below. 

What Is The Ocean Eleven Prequel About? 

At this stage, we don’t know a lot about the plot of the prequel. We do however, know where the film will take place. According to Deadline, the prequel will be set in Europe in the 1960s. 

The new film follows the franchises five other films, including the original Ocean’s Eleven film made in the 1960s, the 2001 remake, and Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen and Ocean’s 8

Who Is Starring In The Oceans Eleven Prequel? 

Aside from Robbie and Gosling, we don’t know who else will be starring in the upcoming film. 

We do know that Jay Roach, the director of Austin Powers and Meet The Parents, will be directing the film, and Carrie Solomon, who wrote Netflix’s A Family Affair, is writing it. 

Robbie is not only starring in the film but producing the movie alongside her husband Tom Ackerly, through their company LuckyChap entertainment. 

When Will The Ocean’s Eleven Prequel Be Released? 

At this stage, we’re not sure when the film we be released. According to Deadline, the film has been in “active development since last year.
