A nurse is being treated in hospital after a horrifying ordeal in which he was allegedly abducted at gunpoint and forced into the boot of his car.
The 25-year-old nurse was on break from his shift at Pindara Private Hospital at around 3.30am on Friday when he was allegedly confronted by four men wearing balaclavas and armed with knives and a gun.
As The Sydney Morning Herald reports, he was then forced into the boot of his own car, driven to an ATM and made to withdraw about $500 cash.
At around 4.20 in the morning, the man was ordered back into the boot of the car. It was then pushed down a hill in Ashmore and crashed into a neighbour’s fence.
A neighbour who found the man at the scene told 7 News about the terrifying events.
“We woke up to someone through our fence, and at first I thought he was a drunk driver and I came out to render assistance and then realised that he was really badly hurt,” she explained.
“He said that he had been robbed at gunpoint by four men, one of them had a gun, one of them had knives and he had knife wounds all down his arms.
“He was just in shock, he could not even tell me his name.”
One man is assisting police with enquiries while a manhunt is still underway for the three others.
