The Big Little lies cast has been teasing us with glimpses from the set of season two with photographs that we’re genuinely considering photoshopping ourselves into.
And now, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon have shared a sneak peek of the newest addition to the squad in Monterey, New York.
The actresses both posted an Instagram snap showing new cast member Meryl Streep (who will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry Wright) with Kidman and her on-screen children.
“First day on the set with Meryl and ‘my’ darling boys!” the Australian actress captioned her post.
“Can’t wait for y’all to see what we have in store!” Witherspoon wrote on her own page.
According to HBO, season two will explore the “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode … the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom”.
Witherspoon said that Season 2 “gives us the opportunity to delve deeper into the lives of these intriguing and intricate Monterey families and bring more of their stories back to the audience who embraced and championed them. I’m beyond excited to be working with talented and acclaimed director Andrea Arnold who will be at the helm. Andrea’s unique storytelling style will be a welcome addition to the filmmaking team.”
Bring. It. On.
