It’s that time of the year when you plan for a magnificent year ahead (including a few too many unrealistic new years resolutions) but also reflect on what a year it’s been. To finish off 2017 Andy Cohen interviewed iconic Australian duo Nicole Kidman and Kieth Urban as part of CNN’s New Year’s Eve live broadcast but he didn’t expect this response.
Cohen bought up one of the most unlikely meme’s of 2017 – Nicole famously clapping at the Oscar’s (below). “Did you expect, like that became such a meme, everybody was talking about it. Did you ever expect that that would become such a thing?”
Kieth rolled his eyes and shook his head before responding to the question. “I mean, it’s called a logical clap when you don’t want to slam your hands together with rings but what do you want to do?”
Nicole also snapped back at Cohen, saying that she thought the way her hands connected at an awards event was a trivial matter to say the least.
“I wish that there was more important things to be concerned about or that people were focused on more important things than that sort of clapping” she said. “That’s what I would say.”
Nicole has previously defended “the infamous clap” in an interview with Kyle and Jackie O earlier this year.
