Last week at the 76th Annual Golden Globes, Nicole Kidman and Rami Malek took home the award for the cringe-worthiest moment of the night after a video of their awkward exchange made the rounds on Twitter.
Kidman took the stage to present film Bohemian Rhapsody with the best motion picture award. Malek graciously accepted the award, only to be brutally snubbed by the Aussie actress.
Footage of the cringe-worthy moment shows Malek trying to talk to Kidman before she turned her back to him. He then placed his hand on her back to try and get her attention, without any luck.
Malek saw the footage for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying, “I have a feeling this is probably haunting me on the Internet.”

Speaking to Kimmel, Malek explained what was really going on. “I’ve known her for many years, despite as it may seem from that video, so I thought I could easily go up and say hi.”
Kidman’s husband Keith Urban made up for the snub later in the night though, Malek explained, “That’s all right. I got love from Keith that night. A massive Queen fan.”

Now, Kidman has responded to the cringe-worthy moment as well.
“We’re really good friends,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I just did not feel his hand on my back.”
“I was mortified,” she continued. “I love that man. He’s so gentle and softly spoken. He’s a darling.”
The pair were lucky enough to reunite on the Critics Choice Awards Blue Carpet, and it seems there’s no bad blood.
