Netflix Puts The Theory That ‘Love Is Blind’ To The Test In Its New Reality Dating Show

When ‘The Bachelor’ meets ‘Married At First Sight’

It’s a nice thought that ‘love is blind’ but can you really put looks aside and build a lasting relationship? Well, it certainly helps when you can’t actually see the person you’re dating and have nothing but great conversations to go off.

Netflix’s new reality show, Love Is Blind, is putting the theory through its paces by getting single men and women to build connections and fall in love before they get to meet face to face.

They’ll go on dates that consist of two singles in separate pods, talking to each other through the walls.

Over time (the series only has 10 episodes, so expect the ‘dating’ and ‘falling in love’ part to take place in the first three or four episodes) connections will be built and eventually, proposals will happen.

That’s when the couples *finally* get to meet in person.

Cue Married At First Sight levels of drama…The couples head out into the real world to start planning their wedding, meet the family, get to know each other better, and, as the show’s trailer reveals, uncover all the dirty laundry that didn’t come up during their blind dates.

It’s everything you love from MAFS and more.

The hosts of the show are real-life married couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey.

Love Is Blind will premiere its first four episodes on Netflix on February 13. The next five episodes will be released on February 20, and the two-hour finale will debut on February 27.

It’s a nice thought that ‘love is blind’ but can you really put looks aside and build a lasting relationship? Well, it certainly helps when you can’t actually see the person you’re dating and have nothing but great conversations to go off.
