Bring It On may have fooled you into thinking cheerleading is all about spirit fingers and booty shaking, but in the real world, cheerleaders are serious athletes. From backflips to being flung in the air, it’s a dangerous (and cutthroat) sport.

Netflix’s new documentary series, Cheer, follows a championship cheerleading team from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, who have won 14 National Cheerleaders Association National Championships.
Of course, the series isn’t only just cheerleading, there’s plenty of real-life problems that the crew are battling behind the scenes to keep you hooked. And you will be hooked.
Just take it from Chrissy Teigen, who is practicing her splits and breaking it to her friend that she’s “not gonna make mat, bitch.”
Or Reese Witherspoon who went through a roller coaster of emotions watching the season one finale.
Brie Larson even threatened fans not to spoil the ending for her!
By the end of the six hour-long episodes, you won’t only get to know the whole team of cheerleaders intimately, you’ll feel like one of the family.
