9News reports that Rigney-Wilson had been charged with the assault of her son, and was due to face court later this month.

The mother allegedly beat the boy with a broom and tried to drown him two years ago.

Police found the bodies of the 29-year-old woman, her six-year-old daughter and five-year-old son in a home in the Adelaide suburb of Hillier on May 30.

Her partner Steven Graham Peet, 33, was arrested and charged with three counts of murder.

“This does appear to be domestic-related and we are not looking for any other further persons in relation to this incident,” said Chief Inspector Alby Quinn of the case.

Rigney-Wilson’s mother, Donna Rigney, tells 9News she had not spoken to her daughter for months due to alleged drug issues.

“She growled, but it doesn’t matter because you’ve got to pull your kids into line and that’s how she did it,” she said.

“She got mixed up with the wrong crowd but she always made sure her children were right. She always bought food for those kids on her payday.”
